Byline Times’ regular cartoonist, who has worked with homeless people and experienced periods of homelessness himself, starts his picture essay on Manchester from street level.
Manchester is my adopted city. I’ve been here 20 years, which is longer than I’ve lived anywhere.
Although full of problems, it is a vibrant European city which I am proud to call home. But, it’s impossible to view Manchester without seeing sad cases of homelessness and despair.
I’ve been working on sketches drawn over a 24-hour period over the past few weeks. Here is a sequence that I call ‘Evening’.
