Rupert Lowe and senior Restore Britain figures are listed as backers of a pan-European far-right initiative to introduce remigration, a policy of mass expulsions which anti-racism campaigners say amounts to ethnic cleansing.

Prominent Restore Britain activists are organisers of the British wing of the Save Europe Act (SEA) initiative, acting as a bridgehead in Britain to the European extreme right identitarian movement.

The International Group chat of the SEA, which all volunteers join automatically, contains posts endorsing antisemitic conspiracy theories, Islamophobic slurs and discussions about intimidating ethnic minorities.

The Save Europe Act is an initiative to get European governments to agree to a moratorium on all non-Western or non-European immigration and a commitment to encourage “non-European” immigrants to leave. It was created by the Austrian white nationalist activist and former neo-Nazi Martin Sellner, and the Dutch far-right political commentator, Eva Vlaardingerbroek.

Restore Britain’s leadership has endorsed the Act, according to the website of the initiative, which lists Rupert Lowe as a supporter. The SEA also claims Charlie Downes, a Restore Britain spokesperson, and several other senior Restore figures as supporters.

Beyond the website displaying the act’s proposals, the project aims to bring together white nationalists across Europe to pressure governments to adopt remigration, a policy anti-racism campaigners say amounts to ethnic cleansing of non-white people.

Byline Times analysed the membership of Eurocom, the SEA’s online platform in which activists coordinate actions and discuss politics. Prominent Restore Britain activists are organisers for the British wing of the movement whose European membership includes Holocaust deniers, white nationalists and the leaders of mini-groups accused of violence, among its members.

The British “volunteer lounge chatroom” is organised by the YouTuber Mr H reviews, a prominent Restore Britain activist who goes by Nate H in the chatroom.

Several other accounts created within the forum match the names of prominent supporters of Restore Britain.

Byline Times found prominent members of Restore Britain, including Lucy White, a Restore Britain activist who is a public representative of the SEA and Jonathan Wong, a YouTuber with the anti-woke outlet Vox Populi, who claims to have joined Restore Britain’s “Cromwell Club”, meaning he has donated at least £2,500 to the party.

White said: “I have no interest in the Byline Times writing a hit piece. I only care about saving my country and saving Europe. Thanks and goodbye.”

Sellner, who is in the international chat room with every user, has described the initiative as “metapolitical”, a term popularised on the far right by the identitarian, French philosopher Alain de Benoist, meaning actions that change the culture in which politics occurs in order to drag politics in a given direction. The goal of the SEA is to normalise the idea of remigration and get governments to commit to the programme.

Celebrating ‘send them back’ stickers posted in London

In a webinar describing the initiative’s goals, Sellner said that the initiative was linking identitarian activists, “people like me – who are shunned by mainstream media, can’t travel freely, can’t get a bank account – with high-profile and high-ranking politicians. So this is really crossing several firewalls. National firewalls and institutional firewalls”.

Through the SEA, Restore Britain appears to be acting as a bridgehead in Britain to identitarian, far-right movements in Europe, which seek to maintain racial purity on the continent.

Charlie Downes, Campaigns Director and Spokesman for Restore Britain, is due to speak at a conference in Paris on 31 October in support of remigration, advertised through the SEA Eurocom channel.

He will be speaking alongside Jean Yves Le Gallou, a far-right thinker and former advisor to the National Front in France who recently caused controversy when he criticised left-wing MP Carlos Martens Bilongo, claiming that African countries like DRC and Angola where Bilongo’s parents are from, have populations with low IQs.

European Movement

Members of the international volunteer chatroom include Sellner, who is permanently banned from the UK, as well as several other members of identitarian street movements that formed when Generation Identity (GI) was dissolved in France in 2021 for reasons that included inciting racial hatred.

In the lounge Byline Times identified an account appearing to belong to Anthony Lacoste, the spokesperson for Les Jeunes d’Oc (Youths of Occitanie) another identitarian street movement whose members were accused of attacking supporters of the Moroccan football team in 2022 and of being part of a mob that attacked a man at a farmers’ protest in 2024.

Byline Times also identified a member of Aurora, another post-GI identitarian group, which the police in the Lorraine region are currently investigating in connection with an attack on the offices of left-wing political candidate Charlotte Le Duc.

One particularly prominent public supporter of the SEA, who is in the international lounge which includes the Restore activists, is Dries Van Langenhove, a Belgian far right politician previously associated with the Vlaams Belang party, who was convicted of Holocaust denial in 2024.

David Lawrence, Senior Researcher at HOPE not hate, said: “Restore Britain is essentially an ethno-nationalist party more akin to the BNP than the Conservative Party. It is therefore unsurprising that party figures are actively courting the European far right.”

Conspiracy Chats

The SEA chats use a ranking system where, upon verification from a moderator and engagement with activism, an activist will gain a rank and have access to chats that are hidden from view of the users that are at a lower level.

Some group chats are visible to anyone who signs up, though lower levels cannot post in them. Activists in these groups are encouraged to dissimulate and hide their views to prevent journalists and “infiltrators” from reporting on political discussion.

One moderator told the International lounge chat: “This is not a place for political and ideological exchanges. Feel free to exchange your social media accounts, connect there and chat about these topics and of course, amplify each others [sic] voice with likes and reposts and the rest of it. All of that is amazing and good. But it belongs in social media, not here.”

They added: “Please understand that political opponents have access to these chats. A screenshot is done in 1 second.”

Despite these warnings from the organisers, Byline Times found posts containing references to antisemitic conspiracy theories and slurs for Muslims.

One user, who goes by the pseudonym Haware and is listed as a volunteer in the Midlands and the North, and is also in the UK lounge, referred to the EU as the “Kalergi Plan manifest” and linked to a book on the Kalergi Plan.

The Kalergi Plan is an antisemitic conspiracy theory popularised by the Austrian neo-Nazi Gerd Honsik, that argues that Richard von Coudenhove-Kalergi, an Austrian-Japanese politician and early pioneer of European integration, devised a long-term plan to undermine white European society by encouraging immigration and race-mixing. In the conspiracy theory the plan is usually overseen by Jews.

Replying to the posts about the Kalergi plan, a Dutch user said that: “It’s always been forced. None of these terminologies come about organically. Same people. Every time.”

They then invited other users to google who coined the phrase “melting-pot” referring to the British, Jewish playwright Israel Zangwill, implying that Jews are behind immigration to Europe.

While there is no evidence Haware is in Restore, David Lawrence noted the similarity to the rhetoric espoused by some figures in Restore Britain. He told Byline Times: “Some of [Restore’s] more extreme figures subscribe to the ‘great replacement’ or ‘white genocide’ conspiracy theories, of which the so-called ‘Kalergi plan’ is one variant. These theories essentially allege that white populations are being deliberately ‘replaced’ by migrants at the behest of sinister elites, and some versions are overtly antisemitic.

“Nonetheless, these dangerous and wholly false beliefs are now widespread among the modern far right, both in the UK and across Europe.”

In the lounge we also found posts referring to Muslims as “sand people”, calling Muslim police officers “Pakish”, describing Muslims as “the enemy” and writing the word cancer with the letter C replaced by the star and crescent emoji, associated with Islam.

Coordinated Actions

SEA activists coordinate actions which range from banner drops, where activists film themselves hanging a banner with a provocative slogan on it, to stickering and gathering support at stalls in public squares or anti-immigration protests. Actions of various kinds have occurred in the UK, France, the Netherlands, Poland, Czechia, Hungary, Austria and Italy.

Some of the members of the movement also proposed creating posters in Arabic to intimidate Muslims. An activist from London shared a photo of a sticker they had posted on a lamppost reading ‘send them back ’, which they claimed was “in a very migrant area of London”.

Activists also discussed coordinated social media campaigns to push narratives of immigrant crime, and there were discussions of live-streaming video games to recruit new members.

Connor Mulhern, lead researcher at the Reactionary International Research Consortium, said: “After the Homeland Party’s failure to coalesce into a serious electoral force, Restore Britain has become the new vehicle for the identitarian movement in Britain, allowing it to dress up racist activism as respectable politics.

“Remigration as identitarians envisage it, but often avoid stating outright, would amount to the mass ethnic cleansing of British citizens on the basis of skin colour, including families who have lived in the UK for generations. Rupert Lowe’s recent support for stripping second generation immigrants of their citizenship [convicted of ‘domestic terrorism’ and similar ‘serious crimes’] shows he is willingly becoming what is, in its political objectives, essentially a more PR-conscious BNP.”

Save Europe Act, Restore Britain, Rupert Lowe, Charlie Downes, Jonathan Wong, Mr H Reviews, Les Jeunes d’Oc, and Aurora were contacted for comment.
